Air Filters - Engine

Just like you want to breathe well, your car does, too!

A clean air filter for your car's engine will help:

  • Improve gas mileage and engine performance
  • Protect the life of your car's engine by filtering out dust, contaminants and foreign objects

Most air filters should be replaced about every 15,000 miles, depending on driving conditions (more frequently in dusty conditions).

Engine air filters are checked each time you have your oil changed at Express Oil Change & Service Center.

Air Filters - Passenger Compartment

Did you know most cars have an air filter for the air going to the inside of the vehicle?

This filter:

  • Cleans the air that you breathe inside your car
  • Removes most airborne particles as small as two microns that circulate into your car through the heating, cooling, and ventilating system
  • Should be replaced every 15,000 miles or every 12 months to maintain effectiveness. Vehicle manufacturer guidelines vary.

Let an Express Oil Change & Service Center technician know if you would like to have your cabin air filter checked.

Alignment

Proper tire alignment is essential to ensuring proper vehicle control and preventing uneven tire wear.

Warning signs of improper alignment:

  • Unusual tire wear (excessive wear on one side, wear in a cupped, scalloped or diagonal stripe pattern at edges or across the tread)
  • Steering wheel is off-center when the front wheels are pointing straight ahead
  • Possibly when the car wants to pull to one side, tends to wander or weave when driving

Express Oil Change & Service Center's wheel alignment service adjusts the relationship between the suspension, steering components, wheels and frame of the vehicle through the use of advanced diagnostic and alignment equipment.

Note: Tire and alignment services may not be available at all Express Oil Change & Service Center locations.

Belts & Hoses

Not just fashion accessories, these are vital components of your engine!

Belts

  • Should be inspected about once a month or with every oil change
  • Replace belts approximately every 50,000 miles or if a belt has more than 10 cracks in a one-inch section of the belt
  • Most cars today have only one belt that controls all systems (alternator, fan, water pump, power steering, air conditioning, etc.).

Hoses

  • Should be checked approximately every three months or with every oil change. Inspecting hoses could potentially be dangerous if the engine is at operating temperature. Always use extreme caution or have a qualified technician perform this for you.
  • Most vehicles have two radiator hoses and several heater hoses. Some hoses are not visible and could be overlooked if you are not familiar with the vehicle.

At Express Oil Change & Service Center, a trained technician inspects the belts and hoses free of charge and will replace if needed. Prices vary depending on the vehicle's requirements.

Brake Service

Keeping your brakes well maintained is absolutely essential to keeping your vehicle safe to drive. Common signs your brakes might need attention include:

  • Squealing/grinding noise when applying brakes
  • Continuous squeak or chirping sound that stops when brakes are applied
  • Vibration when brakes are applied
  • Brake pedal going down too far when applied
  • Brake pedal feels spongy or soft when applied
  • Brake pedal is very hard when applied
  • Dashboard brake light is "on"
  • Brake fluid is low

Count on Express Oil Change & Service Centers for all your brake needs. We offer diagnostic and inspection procedures that are unparalleled in our industry. These procedures enable us to pinpoint the vehicle's exact needs and requirements, and we use only premium parts based on your vehicle's specifications.

Cooling System

Cooling system failure is the number-one cause of on-road, engine-related breakdowns.

Regular cooling system service is necessary to:

  • Prevent coolant-related failures
  • Avoid engine overheating in summer and engine freeze-up in winter
  • Protect against rust and corrosion

Most manufacturers recommend service intervals between 30,000 miles and 100,000 miles. Check your owner's manual for your vehicle's specific recommendations.

A skilled Express Oil Change & Service Center technician can perform a comprehensive cooling system cleaning and service in approximately 30 minutes.

CV Axle Replacement

All front-wheel-drive vehicles use Constant Velocity (CV) joints in the two front axles that transfer power from the transmission to the wheels. Over time, wear and tear of the joints can lead to failure as the boots protecting the joints split and let contaminants in.

Signs your CV joints might need maintenance include:

  • Sounds such as rattling, clicking or popping during turns
  • Vibration during low acceleration
  • Grease on the inside of wheels

At Express Oil Change & Service Center, our pit technicians can easily perform a visual inspection of the CV axles for wear while the vehicle is over the oil change pit and perform reliable CV axle replacement for almost all vehicles.

Factory Scheduled Maintenance

A vehicle's manufacturer recommends scheduled maintenance services during the life of the vehicle. These services have been identified by the automaker as necessary preventative maintenance to maximize your vehicle's life and optimum performance.

The majority of all mechanical failures can be avoided with routine preventative automotive maintenance.

A properly maintained vehicle is:

  • Safer
  • Less polluting
  • More dependable
  • More valuable
  • More fuel efficient

Express Oil Change & Service Center certified technicians perform factory-scheduled maintenance services on most vehicles, including imports and domestics, new and older models.

Fuel System

Want to get the most out of your vehicle's gas mileage? It is important to keep your fuel system clean. Signs your fuel system might be dirty include:

  • Rough idling
  • Reduced fuel economy
  • Hesitation when accelerating
  • Engine knocking, pinging or run-on
  • Stalling, loss of power
  • Cold-start problems
  • Failed emission testing
  • Sticking throttle pedal

Having a clean fuel filter can help your vehicle operate as efficiently as possible. Fuel filters should be replaced according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations - usually every 15,000 to 30,000 miles under severe service driving conditions.

A highly skilled Express Oil Change & Service Center technician can replace your fuel filter while you wait, and also perform a comprehensive fuel system cleaning if necessary.

Differential

The differential allows each of the driving wheels to rotate at different speeds, while supplying equal torque to each of them.

Differential oil lubricates bearings and gears to allow smooth and easy movement. Failure to change the differential oil at your vehicle manufacturer's recommended intervals can cause a variety of problems, eventually causing the bearings in the differential to fail.

Our certified technicians at Express Oil Change & Service Center perform differential oil changes on most vehicles including domestic and import models in approximately 30 minutes.

Motor Oil

Changing the oil every 3,000 miles is the most important preventative maintenance service you can have performed on one of your largest investments - your vehicle. Regular oil changes help ensure that your vehicle is performing well by extending the life of your engine.

Our signature 10-minute oil change is quick, convenient, and includes a 20-point service and safety inspection. You don't even have to get out of your car. And it's affordable. After all, the cost of an oil change is a small investment in the proper maintenance of your vehicle.

Rotation & Balance

Proper tire rotation and balancing can help save your tires from excessive wear.

We rotate and computer spin-balance each tire, and then check the tire pressure for the appropriate specification. Most manufacturers recommend that you rotate and balance your tires every 6,000 miles.

Refer to your owner's manual for specific mileage recommendations for your vehicle.

Timing Belt

The timing belt is a vital part of your engine. It provides a quiet, flexible connection between the camshaft and crankshaft to keep the valves opening and closing in sync with the movement of the pistons.

Looseness and wear will allow the timing belt to slip and change valve timing, resulting in very poor performance, a no-start condition or engine damage.

Your vehicle owner's manual will specify at what mileage the timing belt must be replaced. This can range from 60,000 miles to 105,000 miles.

At Express Oil Change & Service Center, we perform timing belt replacement for most domestic and import vehicles. Speak with one of our mechanical technicians for assistance and specific advice on timing belt replacement for your vehicle.

Tires

You need a new tire(s) if:

  • You can see three or more tread wear indicators around the tire
  • Cord or fabric is showing through the rubber
  • The tread or sidewall is cracked, cut or snagged deep enough to show cord or fabric
  • The tire has a bulge or split
  • The tire has a puncture, cut, or other damage that can't be repaired correctly

Express Oil Change & Service Center offers the convenience of express service and a variety of tires to fit your vehicle's factory specifications.

Tires Pressure Monitoring System

TPMS is a warning system indicating to the operator when a tire is significantly under-inflated.

To find out if your vehicle is equipped with at TPMS:

  • Check the owner's manual
  • Look for a U-shaped icon with an exclamation point on your dashboard when you start your car

If your car is equipped with TPMS, we will:

  • Test all of your TPMS sensors before servicing the tires on your vehicle
  • Notify you if any of your sensors are not working before servicing the tire/wheel assembly
  • Reprogram your TPMS sensors and confirm they are in working order

Transmission Service

Changing your transmission fluid is just like changing your oil. The fluid wears out and needs to be changed to prevent the breakdown of your transmission. This will help prolong the life of your transmission and prevent costly future repairs.

Leading car manufacturers recommend that the transmission filter be serviced on a regular basis. Check your owner's manual for specific mileage interval recommendations for your vehicle.

At Express Oil Change & Service Center, for most vehicles, we remove the transmission pan and clean out a portion of the old fluid that may have built up in the transmission; and we replace the old filter and pan gasket. This service usually takes 20 to 30 minutes.

If your vehicle requires a more extensive transmission system cleaning, we can perform a comprehensive flush and fill service in approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

Wiper Blades

To ensure optimum visibility and proper safety, most manufacturers recommend you replace your wiper blades twice a year.

You can tell it's time to replace your blades if you see cracking or brittleness on the blade edge. It's also time for new blades if they only spread wiper fluid or rain across the windshield instead of removing it When inspecting your wiper blades, don't forget your rear ones. They are important, too.

When it's time for new blades, Exress Oil Change & Service Center carries quality wiper blades to fit most vehicles.

Air Conditioning Service

Keeping your vehicle's air conditioning system well maintained helps ensure it is working properly, cooling effectively, and keeping you comfortable behind the wheel.

To help you maintain your system, our trained and certified mechanics will:

  • Check the Freon level
  • Detect leaks in the system
  • Inspect the condition of the hoses
  • Check the integrity of the seals

Protecting the environment is a responsibility we do not take lightly. That's why our technicians have been certified in the safe handling of Freon and other potentially ozone-depleting substitutes. That's also why we perform air-conditioning services in a closed-circuit removal and recyclable process.
